More often than not I find myself reaching for the gray and the black items from my closet as the weather turns cooler and the winter starts flexing it's muscles. The moodier color palette is comfortable and it fits the colors of the skies, the bare tree limbs and my mood. I purposefully keep some of my summer items in my closet for changing season so that I can surprise even myself with a pop of color. Lighter tops and colorful skirts can stay in your closet year round. Just layer on top of them or underneath them as the weather gets cooler. Outfit details: Top & Skirt: Thrifted locally in Asheville, Boots: Steve Madden via Dillards @ Asheville Mall (last year), Necklace: NY&Co @ Asheville Mall (store now closed)
