After a brief hiatus to have her child and move to Asheville, Heather Mithoefer's Patch Design Studio is back and better than ever! Patch is a small, locally based design studio that creates hand block printed textiles from sustainably sourced organic fabrics and water-based inks. They specialize in beautiful dish towels, cloth napkins, and onesies, with an occasional pillow and tablecloth. Heather’s process looks like this: she first creates the designs and then hand carves them onto blocks, which are then pressed onto her pieces individually using ink that she mixes. They are hung to dry, then conveyer dried with the help of some screen-printing buddies in town, then labeled. Heather got her start in Chattanooga, Tennessee four years ago and has since grazed the pages of some major magazines and is in stores all over the United States, Canada, and even in Japan. She moved to Asheville about a year ago to keep livin’ the dream and selling her wares. Heather’s pieces are thoughtfully-made and beautifully crafted. Her towels and napkins would make stunning additions to any home and her onesies are more than a little bit adorable. 10 Reasons Heather Mithoefer Loves Living in Asheville:
