An audition announcement has been posted for Anam Cara Theatre‘s next mainstage production, Identity XYZ, which consists of three plays written by two writers, each directed by a different director, all exploring themes of gender identity. Both the September 21 audition and November production will be held at Toy Boat Community Art Space on Fairview Road. Asheville, NC 28803 Three plays. Three Directors. Three stories of what it means to be human in a world with rigid gender expectations. Explore the hilarity, ridiculousness, history, and tragedy of inhabiting a gendered world. woman: revised, written by Trish Cole, directed by Ashleigh Millett Specimen: M4LE, written by Skyler Goff, directed by Skyler Goff Butterfly, written by Trish Cole, directed by Missy Bell  Show dates are November 14, 15, 21, 22. Auditions will be held at Toy Boat Community Art Space on Sunday, Sept. 21 from 6:30pm to 8pm, with same-evening callbacks after. Auditions are on a walk-in basis, but please arrive before 8pm. We ask that you bring a resume and head shot (or current photo), and be prepared to list your availability through November 22nd. Audition sides will be provided for cold readings. Actors are encouraged to audition for multiple pieces, as there is potential for cross-casting. No preparation necessary. Email erinn@anamcaratheatre.org with questions.
